CONTACT DETAILS

After graduating from the University of Glasgow in Art History and Anthropology, Jen worked in the British Art Industry before starting a career as a professional diver. This took her around the world before bringing her to  Gladstone to work in conservation on the Great Barrier Reef.
Living on plastic ‘paradise’ coastlines and learning about reef ecology has enormously influenced Jen’s creativity. She passionately promotes the use of recycled and natural materials and explores themes concerning environmental and community health.

Jen has created public sculpture installations exploring the concept of sustainability across Central Queensland; as part of Wrapt in Mugul 2021, the ‘Ignite Community Art’ installation hosted by Integreat Queensland in 2022, and the Capricorn Film Festival, 2022 and 2023. Her recycled jewellery has also been exhibited in Bundaberg, Mackay, and Brisbane as part of the ‘Design CQ’ exhibition in 2022.

In 2023, Jen’s anthropological research and drawings forming the ‘Art of the Ashes’ project hosted by Gladstone Regional Council were showcased at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum, and she also launched her first solo exhibition, entitled ‘Intuition’ at the ARTmatters Gallery.
On a weekly basis, Jen holds space for community members to explore Expressive Arts.
